Info for Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer used to be one the the Black Mage’s Generals till a incident happened in which he ended up joining the Resistance as the Warrior Class to fight against Black Mage.

Demon Slayer’s Past

A century ago, Demon Slayer, who had served under the Black Magician for many years, suddenly realizes the Black Magician had became an absolute ruler such that he could no longer serve him. He then tells Masetuma (who later become a cat and your job insturctor), another henchman of the Black Magician, of the reasons that made him think that way when he encountered her.

(A few days ago, the Demon Slayer met the other Black Wing Generals namely Orca, Van Leon and Akyrum, who were planning to burn down his town. After learning of the their intents, Demon Slayer rushed back to his hometown, only to find himself too late. His house was already in flames. He then spots a locket and open it. Engraved was a photo of his sister and his mother who were both killed. He vowed to take revenge.)

In his rage, he attacks Akyrum at the Temple of Time, but in vain. Akyrum summons some monsters, but was easily defeated by Demon Slayer. As Akyrum is about to make an all out attack on Demon Slayer, the Black Magician opens up his doors, granting Demon Slayer permission to enter.

A fight between the Black Magician and Demon Slayer ensued resulting in Demon Slayer being sealed in an Egg after his defeat.
(Turn on the Caption/CC for English Sub for the video below)

A century later, Demon Slayer wakes up and finds himself in the Black Wing’s lab in Edelstein. He then kills two Black Magician Rabbit Guards with ease. J, a Resistance member, who witnessed the whole thing, brings him back to their base and recruits him to the Resistance. From then on, Demon Slayer only seeks revenge, tracking down the Black Magician for the rest of his life to avenge his family, and killing those who betrayed him.

Demon Slayer’s Fury

Demon Slayer is the 1st class in MapleStory that does not use MP, he uses Demon Fury or DF in short instead. The MP Gauage is replaced with a DF Gauage instead for Demon Slayer as shown above. As all of his skills uses DF and/or HP, no MP pot is required for Demon Slayer.

However, there are some limitations to it:
1) MaxDF can ONLY be increased by Demon Aegis which I will elaborate in the next section.
2) DF can only be recovered by Demon Lash and various skills that recover it. It cannot be recovered via potions. In addition, it will only regenerate overtime after pumping Max Fury in 3rd Job.

The DF orbs recovery chart by Demon Lash are as follows:

Recover 2 DF per orb
1 Hit of Demon Lash on monster= 1 orb
1 Monster Kill = 1 orb
Exception-
Recover 5 DF if triggered Curse of Fury

Recover 6 DF per orb
1 Hit of Demon Lash on boss= 1 orb
1 Boss Kill = 1 orb

Recover 3 DF per orb
Max Fury Triggered-
1 Hit of Demon Lash on monster= 1 orb
1 Monster Kill = 1 orb
Exception-
Recover 5 DF when triggered Possessed Aegis

Recover 10 DF per orb
Max Fury Triggered-
1 Hit of Demon Lash on boss= 1 orb
1 Boss Kill = 1 orb

Possible Alternatives:
Soul Eater Build – Max Soul Eater instead of Dark Thrust first
Soul Eater is a good attacking skill if are fighting monsters that have high HP such as Monster Park or in maps where there are multiple short platforms. However, you will be burning HP pots quickly as well.

Build Order:

Summary/End Results (In order)-
1 SP Starter: (Max Demon Lash Arch First)
Max except Judgement:

Demon Lash Arch (Maxed)
Max Fury (Maxed)
Focused Fury (Maxed)
Raven Storm (Maxed)
Possessed Aegis (Maxed)
Black-Hearted Strength (Maxed)
Carrion Breath (Maxed)
Insult to Injury (Maxed)
Judgement (18)
Vortex of Doom (Maxed)

Reasons –
Max Demon Lash Arch as it is your main attack skill. Level 1 Raven Storm for HP recovery. 1 SP to all attack skill. Max Max Fury first as it is crucial to gather DF quickly and it does not take much to max. Max Focused Fury next for the high damage increase. Max Raven Storm, Possessed Aegis and Black-Hearted Strength to save pots. Max Carrion Breath and Insult to Injury next for additional DPS. Max Vortex of Doom last as it is not really useful as compared to Dark Thrust. Judgement is not maxed as it will be instantly replaced at 4th job.

Possible Alternatives
Damage Build – Max Carrion Breath and Insult to Injury first before Raven Storm
Consider this if you have a ton of HP pots and uses Carrion Breath as your main attack skill. As Insult to Injury complements Carrion Breath, it should be maxed right after Carrion Breath.

Carrion Breath is similar to Soul Eater where it will work best in Monster Park. However, in terms of training, I would say it will be ranked behind Dark Thrust + Demon Lash combo.

Summary/End Results (In order)-
1 SP Starter: (Max Demon Thrash First)
Max except Maple Warrior & Infernal Concussion:

Demon Thrash (Maxed)
Dark Metamorphosis (Maxed)
Barricade Mastery (Maxed)
Demon Impact (Maxed)
Demon Cry (Maxed)
Binding Darkness (Maxed)
Leech Aura (Maxed)
Obsidian Skin (Maxed)
Maple Warrior (29)
Boundless Rage (Maxed)
Infernal Concussion (29)

Reasons –
Max Demon Thrash first as it is your main attack skill. Pump 1 SP into other attack skills. Level 1 Leech Aura for HP drain and is decent enough at level 1. Max first Dark Metamorphosis and Barricade Mastery for overall DPS increase. Max Demon Impact next due to its high bossing damage. Max Demon Cry & Binding Darkness for better debuffs and ignore defense. Level 29 Maple Warrior provides the same stats as Level 30, only longer duration. Max Boundless Rage last as it is pretty much useless with the long cooldown. Dump the remaining SP into Infernal Concussion. It is not useful as it cost way too much DF.

Possible Alternatives:
Maple Warrior Build – Max Maple Warrior and/or when to pump it
If you are planning to get Decent Combat Order, you have to max Maple Warrior as Decent Combat Order only increase the skill level by 1 which will not add another extra 1% stat at level 29. If thats the case, Infernal Concussion will be left at level 28.
You may also want to consider pumping Maple Warrior before Leech Aura.

Build Order:

Leech Aura – Max Leech Aura later
I am actually considering this build after the nerf. However, the extra drain is still useful at times. I would recommend that you at least max it before Boundless Rage.

Suggested Training Areas

Note 1: This Section is built based on Korean Data. As such, World Tour Areas are not included in the training guide. There might also be slight differences in the data from version to version.
Note 2: The Training Areas provided are for reference only. You should adjust them according to your playing style and preferences.

Level 20-25: Mixed Golem at its Mini-Dungeon
Level 25-30: Ice Golem & Flame Golem at Henesys Golem Temple
Level 30-40: Mushroom Castle Quests/Training
King Yeti and Pepe provides good EXP and provides drops scroll in a revamp before Justice. Enjoy it till Mikhail Patch arrives which ruins it. Before the nerf, I would strongly recommend you to stay there till you at least reach level 50.

Level 40-46: Copper Drakes/Drakes/Red Drake & the associated Quests at Sleepywood Dungeon
Level 40-50: CDs OR Mannequins at Kerning Square
CDs are ideal, but if you cannot find any map there, Mannequins are good too.

Level 45-52: White Fang at El Nath (The Map with the Merchant NPC)
Level 50-70: Chryse Quest and Training
The repeatable quest give decent EXP till 65. You can do it after completing the quest chain.

Level 60-70: Toy Trojans at Ludibrium
Level 62-70: Robo and/or Master Robo at Ludibrium Toy Factory

Level 62-75: Mateon/Zeta Gray/Ultra Gray/Plateon/Mecateon at Omega Sector

Flat maps with high spawn rate. Sahel 2 has better spawn rate though.

Level 70-83: Iron Mutae at Magatia
Flat map with high spawn rate.

Level 70-82: Straw Target Dummy at Mu Lung
Like Triple Rumo, Straw Target Dummy drops Angelic Bless Recipe too.

Level 70-84: Triple Rumo at Magatia
Triple Rumo drops Angelic Bless Recipe. Furthermore, the maps is flat and high spawn rate. However, the area boss that spawn occasionally here can be quite irritating.

Level 80-90: Roid and/or Neo Huroid at Magatia
Both maps are flat which makes a good training area.

Level 84-92: Homun at Magatia
Level 85-93: Saitie at Magatia
Small and flat map. However, the spawn rate is not that good.

Level 90-98: Homunculus at Magatia
Level 94-110: Kru and Captain at Herb Town
Flat maps with awesome spawn. However, maps are pretty scarce here.

Level 100-108: Ghost Pirate at Ludibrium Clock Tower
Alternative if you cannot find map at Pirates.

Level 105-120: Dual Ghost Pirate at Ludibrium Clock Tower
Awesome spawn rate.

Level 105-125: Master Death Teddy at Ludibrium Clock Tower
MDT drops Angelic Bless Recipe. However, they hit hard and you can almost never find map here.

Level 115-120: Spirit Viking at Ludibrium Clock Tower
Level 117-125: Gigantic Spirit Viking at Ludibrium Clock Tower
Level 120 onwards: Bossing
Papulutus and Zakum is pretty much the options for anybody. Zakum Arm Training is pretty good if you cannot down the entire Zakum. Cross Hunter are a good source of EXP as well. (after the Cross Hunter expansion in Justice)

Level 120-140: Monsters in Leafre
Level 135 onwards: Time Temple and Future Ereve

Others

You should also consider the following as they give very good EXP.
Cross-Hunter Quests:
Quest-line start at level 75. Quest EXP is pretty decent at the respective levels and daily 15 access does give some good EXP.

Aswan
Monster Spam in Party Hell Mode gives godlike EXP. However, it was nerfed in the following patch. Aswan modes were also removed when Dual Blade Revamp was released.

Monster Park
Level 60-95; 135-165; 160 and above

Party Quests
Level 50 and above. Good at all levels especially after 110 where grinding turns tedious and slow.

The following are recommended to be completed due to their rewards

Rewards- Medal and Ring
